Finding Gratitude in the Chaos

“Today is a new day. And I am choosing to focus on what I can control.”

These days, the news feels like it’s been written by a team of screenwriters. Every headline sounds like the start of a movie that we do not remember auditioning for. But this morning, as I sipped my tea, something in me quietly whispered, “YOU do not have to carry it.” That is when I remembered the truth that steadies me every time the world gets loud. It says, "You can choose your focus." And today, that focus is gratitude.

When everything feels unpredictable, gratitude becomes a quiet anchor in the storm. It is not the fluffy “just think positive” kind. It is the grounded kind that says, “Yes, things are uncertain but I can still be thankful for the small, steady gifts.” The warm teacup in my hands. The text from family or a friend I have not spoken to in a while. The way the sun still rises no matter what is going on in the world. Gratitude does not erase the world’s noise, but it changes the volume. It gives you enough breathing room to remember who you are and why you are here.

Sometimes, the only way to feel grounded is to laugh, remain thankful, and then consciously return to your own lane. Gratitude is not denial; it is perspective. You can acknowledge what is wrong but still only focus on the good in life!

KIRAJE Voice Thoughts

Practical Strategies to Stay Thankful:

  1. Morning reset: Before checking your phone, list three things that make you feel grounded. Especially the ones that make you smile.

  2. Gratitude breaks: Set a timer every few hours. When it buzzes, pause and name something you are thankful for in that exact moment.

  3. News filter: Limit how often you check updates. The world will not collapse if you skip the fifth recap of the same recurring news event.

  4. Laugh therapy: Watch or read something that genuinely makes you laugh. Humor and gratitude share the same space in the brain.

  5. Thank-you notes: Send one genuine thank you note to a friend, family member, or even yourself. It is like watering and nurturing the gratitude in your life to prepare for more.

You see, when you practice gratitude, life has a way of showering you with even more good tidings and joy to be thankful for! At the end of the day, being thankful is not about pretending life is perfect. It is about recognizing that peace does not come from the outside on the 6-o'clock news. Its foundation lies within your heart. Today is a new day. And you, my Beautiful Soul and Friend, get to decide how you will face today, and every day!

You are Seen. You are Known. You are Loved.
